While our representation of the financial services industry includes a broad range of
financial market participants from Wall Street banks to commercial end-users, a core
strength of our practice is our experience advising the alternative investment industry,
particularly hedge funds and proprietary trading firms, through the full scope of issues
vital to their business. A hallmark of our practice is our ability to provide integrated,
360-degree counsel leveraging the firm’s strengths across a broad array of practices,
including corporate and transactional, regulatory and compliance, litigation and
enforcement, tax, and technology and cybersecurity.
In 2016 we advised many firms in the alternative investment space and responded to the
increasing use of quantitative and algorithmic trading methods by organizing a team focused
on the specialized needs of firms that deploy these trading methods, a segment of the
industry we have represented since its inception. A few key examples are highlighted here.
