Wendy E. Ackerman is special counsel in the Class Action and Multidistrict Litigation practice, focusing on consumer class action matters. For more than 20 years, she has defended financial services, banking, and other corporate clients in cases filed in state and federal courts in various jurisdictions across the country. Wendy also focuses her practice in appellate litigation and has represented clients in a score of appellate cases in both the federal and state courts.
Wendy previously worked for a large New York corporate law firm where she handled complex commercial disputes in both courts and in arbitrations involving numerous subject areas, including breach of contract, unfair competition, securities fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, antitrust, international trade and constitutional matters.
She served as a law clerk to the Honorable Antonin Scalia of the US Supreme Court and to the Honorable Stephen F. Williams of the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit. While in law school, she served as articles editor of The University of Chicago Law Review.
