Lance Zinman, Partner and Global Chair, Financial Markets and Funds; Wendy Cohen, New York Managing Partner and Co-Chair, Investment Management and Funds; Allison Yacker, Partner and Co-Chair, Investment Management and Funds; and Henry Bregstein, Partner and Chair, Alternative Products authored the "Investment Funds 2024 – USA" chapter for Chambers Global, presented by Chambers and Partners.

The chapter highlights significant changes from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to the regulatory regime for private fund operations. Regarding trends in SEC regulation, the chapter examines rules applicable to SEC-registered private fund advisers and rules applicable to all private fund advisers (including exempt reporting advisers). It also explores proposed changes to CFTC Rule 4.7, which provided registered commodity pool operators (CPOs) and commodity trading advisors (CTAs)with exemptions from certain compliance requirements under Part 4 of the Commodity Exchange Act in their dealings with investors and clients that are "qualified eligible persons" (QEPs) under that rule.
