Peter D. Ballance concentrates his practice in real estate, representing lenders, special servicers, financial institutions, developers and property owners in financing and related transactions secured by real property. His practice also includes representing purchasers and sellers in the sale of improved and unimproved real property, and landlords and tenants in large office, industrial and retail lease negotiations.
Peter’s recent representations of institutional lenders and borrowers in connection with loan originations, non-performing loans and distressed real estate related to a wide variety of office and industrial properties, residential developments, multifamily condominium projects and commercial retail projects. He also frequently speaks on these topics to legal and private industry groups.
Previously, Peter practiced with Raines Feldman LLP and Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP. Before attending law school, he worked in the neurobiology research laboratory of Nobel Prize laureate Gerald Edelman at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California. While attending law school, Peter served as an articles editor for the UCLA Entertainment Law Review.
