CHICAGO – Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP is pleased to announce that Gregory K. Brown, a partner in the firm’s Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Practice and co-chair of the ERISA Litigation Practice, has been recognized as one of the nation’s “Top Employment Attorneys” by Human Resource Executive magazine. Mr. Brown, who is honored for his ERISA work, will be featured along with other top attorneys in the June 16 issue of Human Resource Executive.

Mr. Brown’s practice emphasizes employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs), ERISA fiduciary matters, tax-qualified retirement plans, executive compensation and ERISA litigation. As ERISA litigation has become more prevalent over the past two decades, he has worked closely with fellow employee benefits and litigation attorneys on these matters. He regularly handles cases involving employer securities as a plan investment, fiduciary status, and duties and remedies under ERISA. He also regularly advises clients on minimizing the risk of litigation through plan design, governance and administration.

In addition to his ERISA work, Mr. Brown has written and spoken extensively on employee benefits law topics across the country. He is widely recognized as a leading authority on ESOPs and other forms of employee ownership for both domestic and international employers. Mr. Brown is a past member of the Board of Directors of The ESOP Association and a past chair of its Legislative and Regulatory Advisory Committee. He currently serves as chair emeritus of the ESOP Subcommittee of the American Bar Association’s Section of Taxation Employee Benefits Committee.
