MINORITY 1L ENVIRONMENTAL INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Katten's Environmental and Workplace Safety group has an internship and mentoring opportunity for an outstanding 1L seeking to expand his/her knowledge in the environmental legal space. Based in the Washington, DC office, the 1L intern will work directly with practice leaders, including Environmental and Workplace Safety co-heads Mark Farley and Steve Solow. Throughout the summer internship, this individual will collaborate with Katten's industry-recognized team and work on projects relating to the key environmental and workplace safety issues and regulations that major companies, national and regional trade associations, and corporate managers regularly face. The 1L intern will gain insight into federal and state laws and learn about industry trends, rules and regulations.

Katten strives to develop mentorship opportunities for minority law students. Through this internship opportunity, the Environmental and Workplace Safety practice hopes to introduce minority law students to an exciting and growing area of practice. After completing this hands- on internship and mentoring program, it is our goal that the rising 2L will be well positioned to pursue a summer associate program in any area of practice, but particularly environmental law. Katten is seeking a student who has strong organizational and writing skills, a keen attention to detail, ability to follow through to meet deadlines and possesses a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusiveness.
