Scott Morrison, a partner in the firm's Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice, was quoted in an article in the Washington Business Journal on George Chopivsky's lawsuit against Specialty Hospitals of America LLC, alleging fraud on the part of Specialty's owners to line their own pockets. Mr. Chopivsky was a Specialty vendor and a potential buyer of the hospital; Mr. Morrison is representing him in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. "There's a huge difference and an important societal difference between an entity that, through whatever normal business circumstances, can't afford to pay its debts any longer, and a company that's been intentionally stripped of its assets for the purposes of avoiding its creditors," Mr. Morrison says.
