The law firm of Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP and the accounting firm of Greer & Walker, LLP are pleased to host their second annual real estate forum, Real Estate '09: Outlook on the Commercial Real Estate Market.  The event will be held tonight, January 22, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at The Westin Charlotte (601 South College Street).  More than 450 guests are expected to attend.

The forum will feature remarks by Mark Vitner, Director and Senior Economist at Wachovia Bank; Jeffrey Kane, Senior Vice President and Charlotte Branch Manager of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond; and Edwin B. Anderson, Jr., Head of CMBS Trading Strategy at Bank of America.  They will discuss current market conditions and trends in Charlotte and the southeast region.  The speakers will also address how the market crisis spiraled, the Federal Reserve’s response to the crisis, the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) and what structured financing may look like in the future.

In lieu of charging a registration fee for this year’s event, Katten and Greer & Walker instead request that guests make a donation to Community Link.  Community Link, which has served the Charlotte community for nearly 80 years, helps to break the cycle of poverty by enabling working poor individuals and families to obtain and sustain appropriate housing.  Last year alone, the organization housed more than 200 formerly homeless families in affordable rental housing, and more than 220 families became first-time homeowners through Community Link’s Homeownership Education and Counseling program.
